Part II English to Chinese

Para 1

Dear friends, on 9 October 2012, the Taliban shot me on the left side of my forehead. They thought that the bullets would silence us, but they failed. Out of the silence came thousands of voices. The terrorists thought they would change my aims. But nothing changed in my life except this. Weakness, fear and hopelessness died. Strength, power and courage are born.  I am the same Malala.

Para 2:

Dear sisters and brothers, I am not against anyone. I am here to speak for the right of education for every child. I want the education for the sons and daughters of all the people. We realize the importance of light when we see darkness. The importance of our voice when we are silenced. And the importance of pens and books when we see the guns.

Para 3

There is a saying that the pen is more powerful than the sword.  It is true. The extremists are afraid of books and pens. The power of education frightens them. That is why they are blasting schools every day. Because they are afraid of the change and equality that we will bring to our society.

the pen is more powerful than the sword.

Para 4

These terrorists are misusing the name of Islam for their own person benefit. But Islam is a religion of peace, humanity and brotherhood. It is every country’s duty and responsibility to get education for each child. And peace is a necessity for education. In many parts of the world, and especially in Pakistan and Afghanistan, terrorism, wars and conflicts stop children from going to school. We are really tired of these wars.

Today, I am focusing on women’s rights and girls’ education because they are suffering the most. It is important that women become independent and can fight for themselves.  So today, we call upon the world’s leaders to change their policies in favor of peace and prosperity. Women and children’s rights must be protected. Any deals that goes against the women are unacceptable.

Suffer

Para 6

We call upon all governments to ensure free and compulsory education for every child. We call upon every government to fight against terrorism and violence and protect children from brutality and harm. We call upon all communities to be tolerant, reject prejudice based on race, color and religion and ensure freedom and equality for women. We call upon our sisters around the world to be brave, display the strength within themselves and realize their full potential.
