Some people believe that violent video games should be restricted, otherwise they will severely pollute children’s minds and make kids more violent. As far as I am concerned, violent video games are not as destructive as they think.

The reasons are as follows. First of all, extensive analyses of the use of violent video games have found no evidence that increased sales of violent video games result in a spike in violent crime. If violent video games lead to violent behavior, the data will show a massive increase in violent crime as more adolescents play violent video games. In fact, there is some evidence that as more and more young people play video games, rates of youth violence have gone down. Secondly, people playing violent video games can get mental catharsis and vent negative emotions, for which they may be less likely to be aggressive in real life.

All in all, violent video games will not cause aggressive behaviors but the game addiction prevention system is necessary especially for adolescents.
