When talking with new friends, sometimes, they're confused about my identity. Technically speaking, my ID card tells that I am a Shanghai citizen. But I can’t speak much dialect of that city, for I was growing up in my grandparent’s home, which is located in Wuhan. When hearing this, the locals from Shanghai say ‘Oh, you must be a new Shanghai citizen.’ The answer is no. I gained that citizenship for many years.
Talking about Wuhan, my hometown, where I lived for many years. It’s weird that I don’t have any relatives there now (They all moved to Shanghai or Guangdong province), and I never go back to that city since graduation. I feel that I am losing my connection with the city day by day.
And now, I am living in Shenzhen, the best city I have ever known in Mainland China. Emotionally, I feel quite connected with this young and hospitable city. And maybe soon, I will gain my new identity of this magic city. Now, that silly problem won’t bother me again when self-introducing to others. Because I will tell others ‘I am from Shenzhen’ proudly.
This is my story of self-identification. How about you?

范例2:

Technological developments are changing the way people live in an exponential manner. The world is becoming a much smaller place. Unlike people in previous generations, who might have lived in the same place their entire lives, people today move around rather often. People should be identified as individuals, instead of being associated with a particular location. Regardless of where they were born, where they went to school, where they are living, or where they are working, everyone should be able to move around freely, be treated fairly and be entitled to the same social benefits.
