With the research he did, he felt he had a good enough grasp of the technical background of the chemicals; for the parts he was unsure of, he compiled a list of questions. Since his housemate was a neuroscientist, Wolfe was going to ask him to clarify some points. When he opened the door to his room, the light from his room spilled into the hallway. He saw the entire house was dark and quiet. I thought he was home... Wolfe thought to himself. He stepped into the dark hallway without seeing the note stuck on his door.
