On October 7, 1913 - Henry Ford launches the Assembly Line method of manufacturing.

October 7th, 1913, once again the innovative Henry Ford has overcome the resistance of many of his own stockholders with a revolutionary method of building automobiles. Ford, who for ten years has advocated manufacturing the greatest number of cars to be sold at the lowest price - can now assemble one of his Model Ts at its Highland Park plant within three hours. Ford himself could build an entire car with his hands - that is not what he's asking the best paid workers in the business. Instead, one worker attached doors, another fenders, another the engine as the auto rolls down what Ford calls his Assembly Line. Ford projects that his assembly line would turn out more than 250,000 Model T's in the first year alone.
