近日美国房价出现了三年来首次的上涨，但是专家认为这次的上涨可能是暂时的，因为持续的高失业率将会对房价的上升构成阻碍。美国经济战略研究所的研究主任认为，“财富效应”将不再拉动需求的增长。

Carliner (director of research at the Economic Strategy Institute) said in the future, when the recession has ended and growth begins to pick up, the recovery is likely to be restrained because the so-called "wealth effect" will no longer drive demand.

（经济战略研究所的研究主任）卡林纳说，当未来经济衰退结束，经济重新开始增长时，经济复苏会受到限制，因为所谓的“财富效应”将不再推动需求的增长。

在上面的报道中，wealth effect 就是 an increase in spending that accompanies an increase or perceived increase in wealth（财富增长或者感觉财富增长时带来的消费增长），即“财富效应”。也就是说人们资产越多，越富有（或感觉越富有），消费欲就越强。

与 wealth effect 相关的还有 expected wealth value（预期资产价值）和 expected wealth effect（预期资产效果），二者均表示对手中的或即将到手的 wealth/assets（资产）的价值和经济效应所做的预估。
