They had an instant connection, and Elle didn't want to complete her mission because she saw that deep down Gabriel was a good person trying to fight his power, but they made her do it. He found out who she really was and she came to blame herself for his going to the dark side for good. They didn’t reunite until Sylar killed Elle’s father.

It seemed Blair was willing, but Chuck can’t seem to give up his old playboy ways and potentially will never change.
