国庆第五天！这一天是虎虎的“家庭日”（family day）。沪江外教Alison老师远离家乡（hometown），当然也让她加入到俺家的聚会中来，不让她孤单。这么说来国庆长假不知不觉也有了中秋的意义：家人聚首、合家团圆（family reunion）。这和美国也是一样儿一样儿哒！

【独立日的家庭聚会】

The 4th of July is a popular time for families and friends to come together and share in the celebrations and the food. Because July is a summer month, the weather is perfect for cooking and eating outdoors. Barbeques are popular on the 4th, so families usually eat things like hot dogs, bratwursts and hamburgers. Cold vegetable and noodle salads, fruit salads and festive cakes and cupcakes are also very common side dishes. It is also common to have a “pot-luck” picnic, where the host prepares the meat on the grill and everyone brings a side dish big enough to share.

7月4日也通常是家人和朋友团聚的日子，人们会聚在一起、分享美食。因为7月是夏天，气候非常适合在户外野炊和聚餐。烧烤在这一天很受欢迎。美国的家庭通常会吃热狗、烤香肠和汉堡。凉拌面条蔬菜沙拉、水果沙拉、节日蛋糕和纸杯蛋糕也是常见的菜肴。人们还喜欢举办一种叫pot-luck的野餐会：由主人准备烤肉、每个人再带一些小菜来大家一起分享。
