Clever men may not be wise while wise men are clever to some degree.

Cleverness and wisdom seems like twin brothers but are different in essence.

When we describe one as clever, it does not mean that we praise his wisdom as well. Sometimes, clever men may be misled by their own cleverness, as the old saying goes. However, this will not happen to wise men who, even without much cleverness, have deep self-knowledge and high criteria for distinguishing between right and wrong.

Cleverness is the praise given to those who have a tactful and quick reaction and deal with matters strategically. By contrast, wisdom is the general approval of personality and self-possession of those who ceaselessly strive for progress and self-cultivation through their whole lives.

If cleverness is a spark that brightens the clear and beautiful sky of life, then wisdom is the sea, extensive and profound, reflecting ancient civilization of human society.

Between cleverness and wisdom, I prefer the latter.

Being clever does not necessarily means being wise, but being wise to some extent means being clever.

It looks as if cleverness and wisdom are twin brothers; they are fundamentally different in essence.

When we say a person is clever, we don't praise that he is wise, because clever people sometimes make mistakes. Cleverness may overreach itself. However, the wise will not do so. Even if he is not clever, he has a strong discipline of self-knowledge and telling right from wrong.

To those who are quick in response and concerned with strategies, we give cleverness which is a compliment. But to those who keep making progress and striving for life, wisdom is given as a common approval of their personality.

If cleverness is compared to a bunch of sparks shining upon the bright sky of life, wisdom is the profound sea, a reflection of brilliance of ancient culture.

Between cleverness and wisdom, I'm in preference to the latter.

The clever do not always represent wisdom,but the wise do represent cleverness to some extent.

When describing a person as clever, we are not in the meanwhile praising the person’s wisdom, because sometimes clever people may be victims of their own cleverness. However, it is not the same case of the wise,who have great self-knowedge and the principles of telling right from wrong,even though he is not clever.

Cleverness is a commendation we give to those of quick response and people who handle everything with strategies. While wisdom is a universe endorsement that belongs to those people who ceaselessly strive along for their personality cultivation throughout life.

If cleverness is a spark which brightens the splendid sky of life, wisdom resembles the sea, with all its extensiveness and profundity,reflecting the light of the eternal civilization of human society.

Choosing from cleverness and wisdom ,I prefer the latter.

评语：译文基本上表达了原文的含义，体现了译者具备一定的翻译基础条件。然而有些地方译文欠自然，个别地方单复数的使用有矛盾之处。望能注意提高英语语感。
