Josh Bowman has said that he doesn't think he'll play Christian Grey in the big-screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

The 24-year-old Revenge star confessed that he's too young to take on the role of the protagonist with a penchant for BDSM in the film version of EL James's erotic novel.

"I'm sure there are plenty of actors out there," Bowman told Access Hollywood.

"I probably wouldn't be old enough, but who knows," he continued. "It's interesting. Depends how dirty they go with it, right?"

He went on to admit that he is having trouble making it through the novel.

"You know what? I've been struggling to get through [it]," Bowman said. "It takes about 300 pages until you get, 'And Christian whipped me with his red riding crop along the chin'."

"And I'm like, 'Come on! It could have happened in Chapter 1 to save me all this time!'"

Bowman is currently dating his Revenge co-star Emily VanCamp.

他同时也承认自己还没看完小说。

“你知道吗？我曾经真的努力试着去读完整本小说，”鲍曼说。“‘你要在看了大约300页之后，才能读到类似‘克里斯蒂安用他的红色马鞭抽打我，沿着我的下巴挑逗我’这样的内容。”

“而且我又是那种没什么耐心的读者，时常会觉得‘拜托，如果在第一章就写到这种情节的话，那就能节省我不少时间了！’”。

鲍曼现在正在与《复仇》中的女主角艾米丽·范坎普（Emily VanCamp）交往。
