Democrats in the Senate cleared the way for majority approval of presidential nominations today. The vote unilaterally overturns decades to Senate president and cuts through Republicans’ ability to block final votes on nominations. President Obama quickly reacted to the Senate action with approval.
 
Kennedy cousin, Michael Skakel is free on bail after 11 years in prison. He is awaiting a new trial for the 1975 slaying of a neighbour. Prosecutors are appealing the ruling.
 
The 747 Boeing Jet that landed the wrong airport last night, took off this afternoon and headed toward the correct runway. It was to touch down McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, but last night ended up eight miles north at a small local airfield.
