从2009年12月起到今年2月底，沈阳森林野生动物园已有11只东北虎死亡，此事引起社会高度关注。

A total of 26 animals in 15 species were reported dead in January in a zoo in northeast China's Liaoning Province, where massive death of Siberian tigers were reported last week.
辽宁省一家动物园中，1月以来总共死了15个种类的26只动物，上周有报导称这里的东北虎大批死亡。

东北虎的英文正确说法不是North-east tiger，而是Siberian tiger，西伯利亚虎。大量死亡，用英语可以表达为：massive death；massive可能是我们知道但不常用的一个词，表示大面积的，大规模的，大量的。

东北虎是国家一级保护动物：The Siberian tigers are under first-class protection of the State.

国家林业局已经就此事展开调查：
The State Forestry Administration has sent a work team to probe the massive animal death.

The State Forestry Administration就是国家林业局，Forestry表示森林学，林业。

调查：probe；probe做动词时可以是及物动词，也可以是不及物动词，probe into sth.；做名词时意为“探测器；探针”，例如“太空探测器”就是space probe
