冰雪“热词”——冬天让你的词汇也冷起来

Snowed under：really busy, with too much work to do.
Example: I'm sorry, I can't meet you for lunch, I'm snowed under this week.
工作铺天盖地，有如雪崩，我们就只能被snow under了。

Put something on ice：to delay something until a later date
Example: We really wanted to complete the project but we ran out of money so we put it on ice for a while.
这个短语让小编想起了一个词：雪藏。另外一个类似的句型是put sth. on hold，也是表示延后的意思。

Break the ice：to say or do something to begin a conversation, especially in an awkward social situation.
Example: I wasn't sure what to say to my boss at the office party, but when the live music started that broke the ice.

Example: Everything starts small but once it snowballed nothing can stop its motion.
