德墨忒耳
Demeter

德墨忒耳是农业之神，罗马名字刻瑞斯(Ceres)。她是宙斯的姐姐，掌管农业的女神，给予大地生机，教授人类耕种，她也是正义女神。她与宙斯生下珀耳塞福涅(Persephone)，珀耳塞福涅后来被得墨忒耳的哥哥哈迪斯抢去做了冥后。因为失去女儿，她无心过问耕耘，令大地失去生机，直至宙斯出面，令她们母女可以重逢，大地才得以重生。每年的冬天就是她与女儿团聚的日子，她放下工作陪伴女儿，令这段时间不宜耕作。

Demeter is the Greek goddess of grain and Ceres is the name by which the Romans knew her. Worship of Demeter is generally based on the story of the abduction of her daughter Persephone (Proserpina) as a result of which the earth experiences winter each year.
