People still have mixed views about whether tourists should follow the local customs and behaviors. Some people think that tourists should keep their own behavior and customs when they travel in other countries. In their view, tourists are consumers, their trips will contribute much to the destination countries tourism industry which spurs economic growth. Therefore, the tourists should be respected and valued as customers. There is no need for them to follow the rules in the place that they visit. Further, it may be highly inconvenient if tourists follow the behaviors and customs of the local residents as tourists tend to know little about a foreign country's customs before they stay in this country for a while. Then, how can the locals expect tourists to behave like themselves.
关于游客是否应遵守当地的风俗和行为，人们对此仍持有不同的看法。 一些人认为，游客在其他国家旅行时，应保持自己的行为和风俗。在他们看来，游客就是消费者。他们的旅行将大大推动目的国旅游业的发展，从而促进经济增长。因此，应该像对待消费者一样地尊重与重视游客。所以他们不必遵守参观地的规矩。而且由于游客在一个国家做短暂停留之前，往往对其风俗知之甚少，所以假如要游客遵守当地居民的行为和风俗，就可能会非常不便。因此当地人希望游客遵守当地的风俗和行为是不合理的。
