The medical helicopter that crashed and burned in suburb in Chicago early Thursday had apparently clipped a radio power. Authorities are investigating whether the tower’s lights had been turned on. The helicopter was carrying a 1-year-old patient and 3 other people. All of them were killed.

An Amber Alert issued for a kidnapped 6-year-old boy has gone nationwide. The child was taken from his Las Vegas home, apparently as part of the drug deal involving the child’s family members. Police say 2 men posing as police officers took the child.

The FBI has now joined the investigation of the community activist group ACORN. The Feds want to know if ACORN helped foster voter registration fraud before the presidential election. Officials say the agency is looking for evidence of a coordinated national effort.
