For a hundred years, a nail-free bridge has served the locals of a minority group in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The people there recently held a ritual to celebrate that.

The historical building is called "Wind and Rain Bridge" as it has provided shelter for the locals from rain and wind, for a century. And the local villagers are remembering that.

A sacrificial ceremony kicked off the celebration.

After that, a hundred respected local seniors lined up and walked through the bridge while praying for the locals.

Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge is about 77 meters long, 19 meters high and 4 meters wide. It is one of the most famous historical bridges in China. More than a million tourists have visited Sanjiang county to see the bridge.

Yang Yongneng, local resident, said,"The bridge has accompanied me my whole lifetime."

Chen Jimin, local resident, said,"The bridge has brought us a lot of convenience. It connects our village with other villages and offers us shelter from wind and rain. It’s truly a great gift by our forefathers. I wish the bridge could firmly stand here for many centuries to come. And I sincerely welcome more friends from around the world to come visit us here."

Wind and Rain Bridge is the most outstanding architecture of China’s Dong ethnic group. The bridge has a unique wooden structure. The most amazing thing of the bridge is that not a single nail was used in the whole bridge.

There are more than 100 wind and rain bridges in Sanjiang County. And Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge is the most noted and was listed as a national cultural heritage site.
