It seems like teenage killers are all the rage these days. After the success of The Hunger Games, not to mention the upcoming and long awaited Ender's Game adaptation drawing near, it's no surprise that other properties with similar stories and setting would be pushed into development. Sony is in early talks to grab the film rights to Allen Zadoff's upcoming novel "Boy Nobody," and who better to star in the (potential) series than Jaden 'The Franchise' Smith.

Sony Pictures plans to develop Boy Nobody as a starring vehicle and potential franchise for Smith, who performed well (literally and at the box office) for the studio in their recent Karate Kid reboot as well as in The Pursuit of Happyness, with papa Will. In fact, the father and son duo are together again as they are currently filming After Earth for Sony and M. Night Shyamalan. As the sleaze bucket Ari Gold always said, you better book your next gig before the current one comes out, especially with Shyamalan's recent track record. And, as Variety reports, that is exactly what the young star has done with this planned trilogy about a teenaged assassin who, despite years of brainwashing, starts to regain his emotions.

The article pretty accurately compares the book's main character as being 'reminiscent of a teenage Jason Bourne' since the author himself, in this release from Publisher's Weekly, describes his protagonist as a "young soldier trained not to feel; who could function in every situation without fear, sympathy or anger; who could assassinate strangers and then walk away emotionally unscathed." Sounds pretty interesting if not entirely original.

The book won't be released until next spring but if you'd like to get a taste of Zadoff's style, his most recent effort, "My Life, the Theater, and Other Tragedies" is on bookshelves now (along with his previous novels, "Food, Girls And Other Things I Can't Have" and "Hungry"). Look for Jaden to return to the big screen in Shyamalan's After Earth on June 7, 2013.
