conversation A
Laura: Jack, are you felling any better today?
Jack: No. I ache and fell tired. And my throat is still really sore. Laura: You've had those symptoms for almost a week. I think you should see the doctor.
Jack: But then I have to take time off work, and I'm too busy.
Laura: But you're not getting better. Call Dr. Jonas.
Jack: Do you really think that's necessary?
Laura: I do. You need something besides aspirin.
Jack: Maybe you're right.
Laura: At the very least, you'll find out what's wrong.

conversation B
(Jack sees a doctor)
Dr.Jonas: Hello, Jack. What's going on?
Jack: Well, I ache, and I've had a bad sore throat for almost a week.
Dr. Jonas: Hmmm, if you had the flu, you'd be better by now. Let me look at your throat.(looks)Hmm...
Jack: What's wrong?
Dr. Jonas: Yours tonsils look white. You may have strep throat. We'll order a blood test to be sure.
Jack: Can I take medicine for it?
Dr. Jonas: If it is strep throat, yes, since it is caused by bacteria. But if you have a virus, then no. You'll just need to get plenty of rest.
