This Day in History - On October 8th, 1967 - Che Guevara was executed.

He toured the world, repeatedly visiting Moscow and Peking, even addressing the United Nations. Theory had it that in spite of [-----4-----], Soviet pressure caused Che's removal from his economic posts in Cuba and his subsequent disappearance in 1965. The C.I.A. apparently had a hand in it, but the Bolivian government announced that Guevera was killed during a [-----5-----] action - this point in time - October 8th, 1967.
