A shooting at a C.I.A office in Kabul has left one American dead and another wounded. The U.S. embassy says an Afghan employee of the office carried out the shooting before being killed. The motive is still under investigation.

Amanda Knox returned to an appeals court in Italy. The lawyer for a Perugia bar owner accused by Knox of killing her roommate called her a sex-loving she-devil who knowingly lied to police to sidetrack the investigation. Knox is appealing her murder conviction.

The trial of pop star Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray gets underway today. Prosecutors claim Murray was negligent in administering Jackson a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol and other sedatives in the singer's rented mansion without access to proper life-saving equipment.

And hundreds gathered in Reno for a memorial to victims of the 9/16 crash at an air race. 11 people died in the crash, including the pilot. The NTSB is still investigating.
