蒙古在元朝的时候雄霸天下，但是在之前唐朝的时候其实被维吾尔族入侵并统治了好几个世纪。

当时维吾尔族和大唐结盟了，战斗力很爆表。

The name Mongol was first recorded during China’s T’ang Dynasty (A.D. 618–907). The Uyghurs, who now live in the Chinese province of Xinjiang, allied themselves with the T’ang and invaded Mongolia in 744. The Uyghurs controlled most of Mongolia until 840.
蒙古这个名字最早的记录出现在中国唐朝（公元618-907年）。如今居住在中国新疆的维吾尔人曾与唐人结盟，于744年入侵蒙古。之后，维吾尔人控制着蒙古的大部分地区直到840年。
