Investigators in Italy think anarchists may be behind the package bombs that exploded at the Swiss and Chilean embassies. The explosions left two people hurt. The bombs were similar to the mail bombs sent to 14 embassies in Athens last month.

Some residents in waterlogged Southern California are finding their homes filled with mud after a week of heavy rain. Mudslides are still a danger in some areas. Officials say the storm did $10 million in damage to homes, roads and levees in San Bernardino County alone.

An election hearing official says former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel should be allowed on the Feburary ballot for Chicago mayor. Opponents say Emanuel shouldn’t be on the ballot because he doesn’t mee the one-year residency requirement.

Amazing video of a man leaping from a balcony in the Romanian parliament. The leap was apparently in protest over budget cuts that had affected his family. The man was not seriously injured.
