A senate house Republican says he doubts that a Secret Service scandal involving prostitutes in Columbia was a one-time incident. Eleven secret service employees have been placed on administrative leave after allegedly partying with prostitutes in advance of President Barack Obama's weekend summit.

Residents are scouring through damaged homes in west Oklahoma and Iowa after overnight tornadoes swept the nation's mid section. At least five people were killed, many more injuried.

North Korea and the world have heard from the country's new leader for the first time. Kim Jong Un spoke at the ceremony marking the 100th birthday of his grandfather, North Korea's founder.
