Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of former vice presidential candidate John Edwards, has died following a six-year battle with cancer. Her family released a statement Monday, saying her doctors determined any further treatment would be ineffective. She was 61-year-old.

Amid critism from fellow Democrats that he caved to GOP demands, President Barack Obama says a compromise on the Bush era tax cuts keeps his 2008 promise to protect the middle class from higher tax rates. He vowed Tuesday to fight any long-term protection for the wealthy.

WikiLeaks says the legal troubles of its founder and money woes won't stop the flow of secret U.S. diplomatic cables. Julian Assange has been jailed in Britain as he fights extradition to Sweden on sex crime allegations. Extradition could take as many as two months.

It's not your grandparent's dreidel song, but this Hanukkah tune, put together by a New York cappella group, is lighting up Youtube. The video has gotten well over 2 million hits since it was first posted just over a week ago.
