On September 19th, 1928, a fresh young face prepares to take off into the brave new world of showbiz. Decades later, he himself could hardly explain how it all happened. His voice and creator Walt Disney could only say he was glad he listened to his wife, who advised him that Mickey Mouse was a better name than Mortimer Mouse. At any rate, it took only months to make Mickey a star in Steamboat Willie, his first sound debut. 100 some odd films, two theme parks, and many millions of dollars later - Mickey was still Disney's biggest cheese.
