On June 19 - Summer Solstice Ceremonies at Stonehenge.
Arthurian legend states that the monolithic stones of Stonehenge were transported from Ireland and erected in England by Merlin the Magician. In 1919, Archeologists began an intensive series of excavations that dated the erection of sarcen stones at around 1500 BC. Link were established with Mediterranean Minoan Architecture, which is curious because legend quotes Merlin as saying the giants of old brought them from the furthest coast of Africa. Most modern archeologist discount a popular belief that Stonehenge was a temple of the ancient Druids. True or not, small groups of modern day druids still perform inscrutable ceremonies in preparation for the summer solstice within Merlin's giant stance of stone.
