The death toll from this weekend's tornadoes across the South continues to grow. At least 10 people died in rural Mississippi. Another two deaths in Alabama are blamed on the storms. Hundreds of homes were damaged. The tornadoes carved a path of destruction from Louisiana to east-central Mississippi.

Two Illinois lawmakers say violence has become so rampant in Chicago that the National Guard must be called into help. The request comes after a surge in violent crime, including a night last week that saw seven people killed, 18 others wounded. In all, Chicago has already seen 113 homicides this year.

Activists are calling on President Obama to fight a new Arizona immigration law. The law requires police officers to question people about their immigration status. If there is reasonable suspicion, they're in the country illegally. More than 3500 protesters were at the Arizona State Capitol Sunday, showing their opposition to the law.

The manager for one of Spain's top bullfighters says the matador remains in serious condition after being gored during a fight in Mexico. Jose Tomas lost up to 17 pints of blood after an 1100-pound bull gored him in the groin. Tomas was operated on at the arena, and then again at a hospital for more than three hours.
