A spokesman says President Barack Obama has finalized his decision on a troop pullout from Afghanistan. The President will reveal his decision on Wednesday. A senior US Defense official says President Obama is expected to withdraw about 10,000 American troops from Afghanistan this year.

Officials are blaming pilot error for the crash of a Russian airliner that killed 44 people. The plane went down in heavy fog and burst into flames just short of a runway in Northwestern Russia. Residents pulled 8 survivors from the wreckage.

Jon Huntsman says both he and President Obama love the United States but they have different visions of its future. Huntsman has launched his bid for the Republican presidential nomination. He’s the former governor of Utah and served as President Obama's ambassador to China.

Mark Kelly is retiring from the Navy. He wants to be with his wife fulltime and work with her on a book. Kelly is the husband of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. He commanded the last mission of the space shuttle Endeavour.
