Both actor Jon Voight and producer Steven Spielberg came to know LaBeouf through Holes. LaBeouf calls Voight, who acted with hime in Holes, his mentor. Voight introduced him to the idea that acting was a form of art, not just a job. Steven Spielberg was so impressed with LaBeouf's performance in Holes that he cast him in Transformers three years later.

Having now reached Hollywood stardom at the young age of 21, LaBeouf is careful to avoid its pitfalls. He's choosing roles that develop his acting skills even if they come with a smaller paycheck. And he's staying far away from the party scene. "if the industry takes you lightly because you're always partying, they will take your work lightly as well."

instead of partying, LaBeouf works hard. For example, while preparing for the new indiana Jones movie directed by Steven Spielberg, LaBeouf worked out three hours a day. When the movie opens worldwide in May, find out if the hard work has paid off.
