8月16日，世博会四川活动周开幕，这次活动周主打“川酒”品牌，各种四川有名的白酒都纷纷亮相——大家知道“白酒”的英语应该是什么吗？

按照字面翻译成white wine是不对的哦，虽然英语中有white wine这个酒类，但是wine是专指“葡萄酒”，white wine其实是“白葡萄酒”，相应的还有red wine，红葡萄酒。

中国的白酒其实是一种蒸馏而来的酒，我们可以用Chinese spirits来指代中国的白酒：

Chinese spirits have been distilled mainly from fermented cereals.
中国的白酒主要是从发酵的谷物中蒸馏而来。

注意哦，这里的spirits是复数形式，表示“烈酒”；同样表示“烈性酒”的词还有liquor，这些都可以统称为distilled beverage：

A distilled beverage, liquor, or spirit is a drinkable liquid containing ethanol that is produced by distilling fermented grain, fruit, or vegetables.
蒸馏型饮料如白酒是一种从发酵的谷物、水果或者蔬菜里蒸馏出来的含有乙醇的液体。
