世博期间，为保证游客饮水，世博园内将免费提供清洁安全的直饮机制造的直饮水，园区内一共设置95处饮水点，约2000个水龙头。

Italy-based ProMinent Group incorporated a solar panel and LCD screen into a new version of public water fountain machine, which could produce still and sparkling fresh drinking water at a reduced energy use.

意大利的ProMinent集团在一种新型自动饮水机中装入太阳能电板和LCD显示屏，能以较少的能量提供新鲜饮用水。

在上面的报道中，water fountain就是指这种直饮机/自动饮水机，是专门在公共场合为大批游客提供饮水用的。我们平时在家里用的饮水机是water dispenser，dispense有“分配、分发”的意思；我们喝的纯净水就是distilled water。

不过，“自动售货机”的英文说法不是用dispense这个词，而是vending machine，vendor就是我们常说的“小贩”。
