I'm Ben from the Cellphone Broker in San Jose, California. Today I'm going to show you how to find out if our battery needs to be replaced. There's a couple of things you need to look for. The first thing is if your battery is completely flat. Batteries in cellphones are normally completely flat. Cellphone batteries should be completely flat like this one. When you set it down on the table and it wobbles, like this one, it definitely needs to be replaced as soon as possible because if it keeps wobbling like this, you should replace the battery as soon as possible. If you don't, the chances of the battery exploding inside of your phone and releasing battery acid which could be potentially hazardous and pretty high. So make sure that your battery is completely flat. So there's a couple of ways to check if the battery is has expanded. You can wobble it like this or you can do what we call in the industry, a spin test where you set it down on the table like so and spin it like this. If it spins like that, you've got a problem. Flat batteries won't spin. Imploded batteries will.
The seconds thing that you can do to find out if your battery needs to be replaced is if you have to charge it a lot or if the charge does not last a long time, the battery probably needs to be replaced and at that point, you should take the battery out and then do the spin test or the desktop test. If your battery is lasting less than 24 hours, the chances are it's been in that phone for maybe about a year and a half to two years and it's ready to be replaced. If you've only had the battery for about 6 months, you've had the phone and the battery for 6 months, your battery really shouldn't be acting up. All companies that sell phones have a one year manufacturer's warranty so you can contact that manufacturer if you've had that phone for less than one year and have them replace that battery.
