China considering manned lunar landing in 2025-2030: expert

Chinese scientists are considering the feasibility of a manned lunar landing mission at an appropriate time between 2025 and 2030.
Ye Peijian, chief designer of the lunar probe with China's Chang'e Project has told a science lecture in Shanghai that China will be able to fetch samples collected by unmanned lunar probe by 2017.
According to Ye, China will launch the second lunar probe Chang'e-2 in 2010 which will conduct research at a 100-kilometer-high moon orbit as the preparation for a soft landing by Chang'e-3.
He says by 2013, China will send the landing craft and rover vehicle to the moon,

Sichuan to open quake relics to tourists

Officials in southwest China's Sichuan Province, where the massive Wenchuan earthquake left more than 87,000 people dead or missing and more than 374 thousand injured last year, say they will open some quake relics to tourists.
A local tourism official said there is a huge tourism market in the ruins one year after the quake.
He says the first relics to open include the devastated tourist sites, schools, bridges, factories and streets in cities of Dujiangyan, Pengzhou, Mianzhu and Guangyuan as well as Yingxiu Township in Wenchuan county, the epicenter.

Former Skorean President dead: Yonhap

Former South Korean President Roh Moo- hyun has died after falling down a mountain while hiking with an aide according to Yonhap news agency.
It is not known whether the former president fell by accident or died after committing suicide.
South Korea's justice minister says the investigation on former president Roh Moo-hyun and his family will likely be put to an end as the ex- president is found dead.
The police and the prosecution are probing into the exact cause and details of the death.

At least 12 killed in ferry mishap off N. Philippines

At least 12 people have been killed when a ferry sank off the northern Philippines.
The passenger boat, named MB Commando 6, was carrying more than 50 people off Verde Island in Batangas province Saturday noon when the sea tragedy took place.
Twelve bodies have been recovered and 40 others have been rescued.

U.S. shuttle Atlantis' landing delayed until Sunday: NASA

NASA says the landing of U.S. space shuttle Atlantis has been postponed until Sunday because the weather was not cooperating at the main touchdown site at Kennedy Space Center.
