The Ministry of Defence has announced that a further 1,060 military personnel have been maderedundant.
The redundancies are the latest tranche of ongoing cutbacks in staffing. Since 2011, 12,130 military personnel have been made redundant.
The MoD announced in January that 1,505 were to be made redundant in the latest tranche but this dropped to 1,060, partly through natural wastage and partly because of people moving to other roles.
Of the latest cuts, 995 are from the army, 10 from the navy and 55 from the RAF.
On Wednesday the MoD rejected scathing criticism from the government's public spendingwatchdog that it was seriously mishandling deep cuts in the size of the army.

    一月份，国防部曾声称最新一轮裁剪人数为1505人，但是现在人数则将至1060人。部分是由于自然损耗（辞职或自然退休），还有一部分原因则在于个人转业。
    在最新一轮的裁剪中，有995人来自陆军，10人来自海军，22人来自皇家空军。
    周三，对于来自公共事业支出监督部门的苛责，国防部予以否认。此前监督部门称该做法严重失当，使部队人数大幅缩水。
