有空给我写信。

表示收到某人的信，可以说hear from somebody：

I've been looking forward to hearing from you since I wrote to you last month.
自从上个月给你写过信以后，我就盼着收到你的来信。

“回信”是to write back:

Write me back as soon as you get the letter.
收到信后请速回复。

发短信：to send (short) messages; to send SMS; to text

例句：If she/he is away from you, you can send message/SMS like 'Good morning sweet Valentine' or a small love note which he/she loves to treasure.

People ask others to "Skype me" or say they are "Skyping."
