比如or, and , such, for example….the first, the second. In addition,

不一定都是than, senior to,junior to

比如:suggests/advice/proposal

You should / should not

Why don’t you …

It’s not a good idea…

I’d rather you didn’t ….

He says, it is said,

1.A. The way the business world works.

     B. The way to get along better with adults

     C. The way to manage money

     D. The way to get and keep a job

2. A. Working students in general suffer a drop in grades.

    B. Working students are better able to cope with difficulties in life

    C. Working students in general have their grades improved

    D. Working students have a better chanced of finding a job after graduation

3. A. She thinks it is a great idea

    B. She thinks it is no good for students’ study

    C. She thinks it has its positive side as well as its negative side

Does part-time work have benefits for young students? Ellen Greenberger and Laurence Stenberg examined the work experiences of students in four California high schools in 1981.It is commonly assumed that youths- through work experiences-learn to get along better with adults. However, students reported that they rarely felt close to the adults with whom they worked. The work experiences did help them understand how the business world works, how to get and keep a job, and how to manage money.

But Greenberger and Stenberg found that working students have lower grades than non-working students.More than one of four students reported that their grades dropped when they began working; only one of nine said that their grades improved. But it was not just working that affected grades- more importantly, it was how long they worked. Tenth grades who worked more than 14 hours a week suffered a drop in grades. Eleventh grades worked up to 20 hours a week before their grades dropped. When student spend more than 20 hours per week working, there is little time to study for tests and to complete home work assignments.

In addition, working students felt less involved in school, were absent more, and said they did not enjoy school as much as the non-working students.

What has happened to the youth of today? People of the older__1_ ask this question. Yet, for some time now a movement has been developing among our young people. It is called “Straight Edge” and its followers are ___2__ to overcome the poisons of life.. The __3_ of this movement is Ian Mckaye, a __4_ Washington singer. He was the person who set the __5_ of this movement: no smoking, no drinking, no drugs. Since its birth in 1981, the movement has ___6__to Europe and is growing worldwide.
