People living along the East Coast are being hit with a harsh winter storm that has made driving very hazardous. Forecaster issued a blizzard warning for New York City, with a forecast of 11 to 16 inches of snow.

Nearly 1,000 flights have been canceled just at the New York area airports. Hundreds of others flights were scrubbed at other airports in the mid-Atlantic region and the northeast.

A tour bus slammed into a truck in southern Egypt Sunday, killing eight Americans and injuring 21 others. It ran into a parked truck on the side of a single lane desert road, killing six women and two men.

About 250 poor people dined on Lasagna, veal and cake at Vatican with Pope Benedict XVI. The pontiff spoke to his guests about the virtues of Mother Teresa, who dedicated her life to serving the sick and poor.
