The price of daily necessities in the U.K. have soared over the past decade, leading to increased pressure on families and low-income earners.

A UK-based foundation says the cost of the minimum budget has risen by 38 percent over the past 10 years, faster than the country's inflation rate of 23 percent. The increase includes a 37 percent rise in food prices, and an almost 60 percent hike in bus fares.

The survey also shows it costs 14 thousand pounds per person to achieve a minimum standard of living, based on 2009 prices. That's soared by 6 percent, while the inflation rate for the year is less than 3 and a half percent.

The minimum standard of living includes essentials like food and housing, as well as social necessities, such as transport and an annual 1 week holiday.
