Rescue team said they’ve been forced to stop their underground search for four missing miners, they are waiting for a huge drill to vent dangerous gases from West Virginia mine. Searchers had spent four hours working their way to the mine before having to turn back because of gas levels.

A San Francisco man accused of threatening House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in phone calls made his first court appearance. The FBI says Gregory Giusti was arrested Wednesday, authorities say he made dozens of calls to Pelosi because he was angry with health care reform.
And the brother of figure skater Nancy Kerrigan has been charged with manslaughter in the death of their father. Mark Kerrigan is accused in the death of 70-year-old Daniel Kerrigan in January after a fight in the family home outside Boston. He had already been charged with assault.
