据VOA报道，夏威夷有两位高中历史老师，一位叫艾美.波维尔(Amy Burvall)，另一位叫赫伯.马何罗纳(Herb Mahelona)。两人自编自导自演，将历史教材放入流行歌曲，这种教学方法使得学生对历史变得有兴趣，学习效果变好。不少学生会在考试时哼着歌想答案，甚至有四年前的学生到现在都还能完整唱出整首歌。

四年下来，他们已经累积了50多首歌，当中还有一支教中国历史的MV。这首有关中国历史的MV用的是麦当娜的名曲Vogue，歌名改为Chinese Dynasties（中国的朝代），由女老师波维尔演唱。歌词根据视屏字幕辑录如下：

Early on, everywhere you turned was chaos for over 300 years
（远古，有三百年乱世）
Legend says the Xia Kingdom was first to appear
（夏朝，是个传说）
About them little was known
（知之甚少）
Along came Shang, a farming society
