The film is adapted from the play with the same name. Meryl Streep will play the mother Violet Weston from a Southern family in the film.She is bad-tempered and has a drug addiction. After her husband Beverly drowned to death, she become the chairwoman of the family. Julia Roberts will play the role as her daughter Barbara,whose unfaithful husband has a special love with his own student.
