当华特·迪士尼先生应允女儿将她们挚爱的P.L.特拉弗斯作品《欢乐满人间》搬上银幕时，他不曾料到，兑现这个诺言花了20年时间。在寻求改编权的过程中，迪士尼先生面对的是一位态度强硬的原作者老太太，她坚决不同意让好莱坞改编她笔下的精彩故事与传奇人物。直到原著的销售收入持续下滑，特拉弗斯才勉强同意飞往洛杉矶，与迪士尼先生一谈此事。

When Walt Disney's daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers' "Mary Poppins," he made them a promise - one that he didn't realize would take 20 years to keep. In his quest to obtain the rights, Walt comes up against a curmudgeonly, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get mauled by the Hollywood machine. But, as the books stop selling and money grows short, Travers reluctantly agrees to go to Los Angeles to hear Disney's plans for the adaptation.
