【内容简介】

自纽约事件以来，托尼·斯塔克（小罗伯特·唐尼 Robert Downey Jr. 饰）为前所未有的焦虑症所困扰。他疯狂投入钢铁侠升级版的研发，为此废寝忘食，甚至忽略了女友佩珀·波茨（格温妮斯·帕特洛 Gwyneth Paltrow 饰）的感受。与此同时，臭名昭著的恐怖头目曼达林（本·金斯利 Ben Kingsley 饰）制造了一连串的爆炸袭击事件，托尼当年最忠诚的保镖即在最近的一次袭击中身负重伤。未过多久，托尼、佩珀以及曾与他有过一面之缘的女植物学家玛雅（丽贝卡·豪尔 Rebecca Hall 饰）在家中遭到猛烈的炮火袭击，几乎丧命，而这一切似乎都与22年前那名偶然邂逅的科学家阿尔德里奇·基连（盖·皮尔斯 Guy Pearce 饰）及其终极生物的研究有关。

Tony: Honey.

Pep: Oh my god. I was really violent.

Tony: You just scared the devil out of me. I thought you were…

Pep: I was dead. Why? Because I fell two hundred feet? Who's the hot mess now?

Tony: Still debatable. Probably tipping your way a little bit. Why don't you dress like this at home? Hmm? Sports bra, the whole deal.

Pep: You know I think I understand why you don't want to give up the suits. What I am gonna complain about now?

Tony: Well, it's me. I'll think of something.

Pep: Don't touch me. No, I'm gonna burn you!

Tony: No, no You're not hot.

Pep: Am I gonna be okay?

Tony: No, you're in a relationship with me, everything will never be okay. But I think I can figure this out, yeah. I almost had this 20 years ago when I was drunk. I think I can get you better. That's what I do. I fix things.

Pep: And all your distractions?

Tony: Uh, I'm gonna shave them down a little bit. Jarvis, hey.

Jarvis: All wrapped up here, sir. Will there be anything else?

Tony: You know what to do.

Jarvis: The "clean slate" protocol, sir?

Tony: Screw it, it's Christmas. Yes, yes. Okay so far? You like it?

Pep: It'll do.

Tony: And so, as Christmas morning began, my journey had reached its end. You start with something pure, something exciting. Then come the mistakes, The compromises. We create our own demons.

Mandarin: It's great to see you.

Tony: Of course, there are people who say progress is dangerous. But I'll bet none of those idiots ever had to live with a chest full of shrapnel. And now... neither will I. Let me tell you: that was the best sleep I'd had in years.

Doctor: It's okay, it's okay.

Happy: No!

Tony: So if I were to wrap this up tight with a bow or whatever, I guess I'd say my armor was never a distraction or a hobby. It was a cocoon. And now, I'm a changed man. You can take away my house, All my tricks and toys. One thing you can't take away...I am Iron Man.
