It has been confirmed that the smash hit and hugely addictive mobile game Angry Birds is set to be adapted for the big screen. Angry Birds has taken over many people’s lives and has even made addicts of celebrities, including Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski, who is regularly tweeting about the game.

Rovio have confirmed that they have approached former Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel to be a special advisor on the project. David Maisel is the man responsible for taking the Marvel film division and turning it into a company of its own. This helped the company break out on its own and finance its own movies, starting with Iron Man, which was released in 2008.

Angry Birds is a game where players use a slingshot to fire birds at a variety of obstructions to destroy a gang of nasty pigs who have stolen their eggs. The game comes with some fascinating sound effects. It is not yet known what the plot will be or who will star in Angry Birds the movie but they are hoping to have it ready for release in 2015.
