NBC has officially given a new show from Friends alum Mathew, Go On, the go ahead. As previously announced, Perry has tapped former Friends writer/producer Scott Silveri to create the sitcom as part of NBC’s new fortified comedy lineup. Perry will also act as an executive producer on the project.

The series, which began shooting last March, revolves around a charming sportscaster (Perry) forced into a mandatory group grief counseling following a great loss. Actresses Julie White (Transformers ) and Suzy Nakamura (Men of a Certain Age) will also star as a widowed woman stuck in the anger stage of grief – and a woman attempting to deal with her parents’ divorce, respectively.
