What's Time to a Pig?

时间对猪有什么意义？

One day, a visitor from the city came to a small rural area to drive around the country roads, see how the farms looked, and perhaps to see how farmers earned their living. The city man saw a farmer in his yard, holding a pig up in his hands, and lifting it so that the pig could eat apples from an apple tree. The city man said to the farmer, "I see that your pig likes apples, but isn't that quite a waste of time?" The farmer replied, 'What's time to a pig?"

一天，一个城市里的游客来到一个小乡村，在乡间路上开着车，想看看农庄是什么样子，种田农夫怎样过日子。这位城里人看见一位农夫在庭院里，手中抱着一头猪，并把它举得高高的，好让它能够吃到树上的苹果。城里人对农夫说：“我知道你的猪挺喜欢吃苹果的，但是这不是很浪费时间吗？‘那位农夫回答说：“时间对猪有什么意义？”

Buy a Parrot

传教士买鹦鹉

A preacher is buying a parrot.

一个传教士在买鹦鹉。

"Are you sure it doesn't scream, yell, or swear?" asked the preacher.

“你确信它不会尖叫、大叫或诅咒别人吗？”传教士问。

"Oh, absolutely. It's a religious parrot." The storekeeper assures him.

“哦，绝对不会。它是一只虔诚的鹦鹉。”店主保证说。

"Do you see those strings on his legs? When you pull on the right one, he recites the lord's prayer, and when you pull on the left he recites the 23rd Psalm."

“你看见它腿上的细绳了吗？当你拉动右边的这根，它会背诵天主经，当你拉动左边的那根，它会背诵赞美诗。”

"Wonderful!" says the preacher, "but what happens if you pull on both strings?"

“太棒了！”传教士说。“但是如果我同时拉动两根绳子，会发生什么呢？”

"I fall off my perch, you stupid fool!" screeched the parrot.

“我会从架子上掉下来的，你这个笨蛋！”鹦鹉尖声道。
