curve, bend, bow, crook, twist

这些动词都含“弯、弯曲”之意。

curve : 指变成曲线或弧线状的动作或状态。

The missile curved gracefully towards its target.（导弹呈优美的曲线状飞向目标。）

bend : 普通用词，指把某物变成曲线或角形。用于人时，指头部或身躯弯下。

The branch bent but did not break.（那树枝弯曲, 但没有折断。）

bow : 指把头部或上身弯向前方的动作，也指社交中的礼节性动作。

He bowed his thanks.（他鞠躬致谢。）

crook : 指不规则的弯曲，也指按照规则或模型弯曲某物。

She crooked her finger to beckon him.（她勾勾手指向他示意。）

twist : 指通过转动、拧或扭使某物成弯曲状。

He twisted the three ropes to make one very strong rope.（他把三根绳子搓在一起, 做成了一根结实的绳子。）
