Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi is appealing to President Barack Obama to end the air war in a letter calling it an unjust war against a small people of a developing country.

In Ivory Coast, fighters trying to force strongman Laurent Gbagbo out of power get as far as the gates of his presidential palace before heavy arms fire forces them back. The armed group is trying to install the democratically elected president as the African country's head.

Personality Glenn Beck is leaving his show on the Fox News channel with ratings on the decline and advertisers boycotting the program. Beck and Fox say they will develop new programming for television and the digital realm.

Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie travels from Hollywood to the border of Libya and Tunisia, calling attention to the plight of Libyan refugees. Jolie is also a goodwill ambassador for the UN high commissioner for refugees.
