He felt the grainy surface of the wood. The interior designer expected to feel the device with the hard plastic cover. When he failed to sense what he was looking for, he expanded the range of his detection. He gently swept his fingertips to the left and to the right. Still, he was unable to find the audio device – the device he saw on the underside of the same desk surface not too long ago. He was sure of the location. In that case, it could only mean the device was no longer there.
